ITEM. 3 : FIXED - COMMITMENT CALENDAR

Fixed Commitment Calendar

Hello readers,

I am going to share with you how I manage my time using a fixed commitment calendar. Check it out!

Importance of Time Management

Time management is the way we regulate or schedule our time. We can make more efficient use of our study time and complete all the works in less time by using good time management skills.

Besides, time management is also a way to discipline ourselves and be responsible students.

Managing Time On Our Own

Unlike in high school life, college life is a little bit tougher as we need to structure our own schedule. An example to over come this problem is by recording a time log.

Keep a Time Log

Keeping a time log helps us to see how much we use time to complete one task, and how little time we spend on other activities.

Time log is a record of what we do each hour of the day for a week.

Here is the tip to record time log. Don’t wait until it is the end of the day to record all of the activities we have done to avoid inaccuracy.

Hours needed for study / a WEEK:   56 hours

Hours available for study / a WEEK:    54 hours

As a full time student we should get about:-

·        56 hours a week sleeping (one-third of our time)

·        56 hours for academics (classes, study time, tutoring, review sessions and meetings with professors or advisor)

·        56 hours for the rest of our life.

Above calendar is based on my daily life. It might be different with you guys as we have different classes schedule etc. But to make sure that we have enough time for personal activities and time for study is a must! Make sure we still have some times to study or do some revisions to recall all the things that we have learnt that day.

Instead of using this manual method, we can also use the applictions that we have on the phone such as the classup, google calendar and so on to remind us our schedule.

That is all for today and I hope you can try to do this fixed commitment calendar for yourself too. Goodbye!
